Will we be receiving more information with details? Yes! As the retreat gets closer, we will send out an email to record breakout room interest, a more specific packing list, a detailed itinerary, and other food/housing/travel guidelines. 

If I'm commuting, what time should I anticipate coming to the venue? Leave the venue? Although our schedule is not set, commuting participants should expect programming to last Friday 1pm-9pm, Saturday 8:30am-9:30pm, Sunday 9:30am-11:30am. 

Who is this retreat for? This retreat is for Asian American women seeking a space for healing, connection, spiritual renewal, and a deeper connection with their unique identity. It's a chance to step away, build lasting friendships, experience a supportive community, and deepen your connection to God's call for wholeness.

What is the theme?  God loves and cares for us as whole beings.

Where will the retreat be held at? University of Saint Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, IL. It is approximately 28 miles north of O'Hare International Airport (~40 min drive).

Will there be rides from the airport provided? Unfortunately due to the complications of coordinating everyone's flights with rides, we will be unable to cover rides from the airport and ask that participants find their own forms of transportation. 

Can I bring my children/spouse? Because this gathering is an intentional overnight experience for women, we are unable to accommodate for spouses. Childcare is not available at the retreat venue. What type of accommodations will be provided?  The rooms each contain two twin sized beds and can be booked as either a single or double occupancy room. Each room includes one private bathroom with a standing shower, a desk, and chair. Basic amenities included: towels, pillows, sheets, and blankets. We recommend you bring your own hairdryer and toiletries. Please also bring your own water bottle, as we will have water refilling stations available.

Are meals included?  Yes! Meals are included and served buffet-style, making it easy to enjoy a variety of options. Refreshment stations with coffee, tea, and water will be available throughout the retreat.

What will the schedule be like? Our schedule offers a balanced blend of large group sessions, prayer time, focused small group discussions, and interactive breakout sessions. You'll also have opportunities for journaling, nature walks, a relaxed free time, and a fun group activity.

Are there optional activities? Yes! Optional activities include:

• Serene prayer gardens available for personal reflection.
• A ~1.5-mile lakeside path, with safety vests available for early morning walks/runs.
• Access to the country's largest theological library for quiet reading and study.

What should I pack?

Is there a dress code? To align with the university's community standards, we request that participants dress modestly. The university requests that undergarments and sports bras must be covered by other attire. Tank tops should have a shoulder width of at least 2 inches and cover the back and sides. Shorts should extend to mid-thigh (for example, loose soccer or basketball shorts). Dresses and skirts should be a respectful length. Shorts or skorts should be worn over yoga pants/tights.  Low-cut tops and short or tight skirts are not allowed.

Do you cater to dietary restrictions?  Yes! Please let us know about any dietary restrictions or allergies on your registration form. The dining hall offers a variety of options to cater to many dietary restrictions including vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free.
